Conference [i]Scientometrics: The Research Publication and Its Value[/i]

On 24 April, the second conference Scientometrics: The Research Publication and Its Value took place in the Grand Conference Hall of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. 
The objective of the conference – to acquaint the academic community of Lithuania with the strategy of politicians regarding the issues of science in Lithuania, the ratings of the globally acknowledged universities and their constituent parts, the tendencies and possibilities of the rapidly changing scholarly communication, the contemporary assessment methodology of research output and the assessment results in the physical, biomedicine and technological sciences, with the Scientometrics Tool that had been developed by Elsevier and was started to be used in the UK as well as the possibilities of its application, the citation and other peculiarities in social and humanitarian sciences
