On 6 December 2016 the LMBA together with KTU organized a conference An Academic Library and Open Science. The conference was dedicated to the fifteenth anniversary of the LMBA activity and promoting the dissemination of the open science ideas in Lithuania. The conference took place at the KTU Science, Technology and Business Centre, the Open Access Santaka Valley at the address K. Baršausko str. 59, Kaunas.
On 19-21 November 2016, Emilija Banionytė, LMBA President, Aušra Vaškevičienė, LMBA Head of Administration, and Jevgenija Ševcova, Manager of Databases, attended the EIFL General Assembly arranged in Chisinau.
On 8 November 2016, the IOPP seminar dedicated to the academic community and librarians was conducted at Santaka Valley of Kaunas Technological University.

On 22 April 2016 the events dedicated to the 16th Lithuanian National Library Week Strong Libraries – Strong Scieties will take place at the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania: the celebration of the International Book and Copyright Day which falls on the 23 of April, the Annual Conference of the Lithuanian Librarians Association.
